IMFF's brand identity is built on a single structural decision: color moves, everything else holds. The wordmark and emblem stay fixed across every application while a system of shifting color blocks marks each phase of the festival calendar, submissions, screenings, opening night, ceremony. The result is an identity that stays coherent without staying still, carrying the energy of independent filmmaking through every moment it produces.

The challenge was to build an identity that could hold together across the full arc of a festival without flattening each moment into the same visual register.

The IMFF emblem takes the mobile screen as its starting point, a rounded rectangle, the most familiar frame in contemporary life, reduced to its essential geometry. Inside it, a diamond mark sits centered, referencing both the lens and the light source: the act of seeing and the act of projecting. Compact enough to function as an app icon, bold enough to anchor a poster, the emblem works across every scale the festival demands while remaining the one fixed point in a system designed to move around it.
